It gives your goals a sense of realism than if you were to just think about the word “mansion.” Find some pictures of Italian Villas or indoor pools or whatever it is that you want and just imagine yourself in there.

    Ok, so let’s talk about your mansion. Just writing down a mansion in your Goals list isn’t enough. Write down details.

    Why do we need goals? We also use goals as a motivational tool to give us that boost of energy to work towards them.

    For me, I’m a car guy so I’ve got a few cars on my list. Like I said, you have to dream big if you want to hit it big so I’ve got Porches, more BMWs, and even Ferraris on my list. I know the colors I want and all the options that each car provides.

    You can start with making a list of your goals but you need to go farther. Get into the details.

    You have to start dreaming again and not the dreams that you have when you sleep at night, but the dreams that you had when you were kids like, “I want to live in a mansion when I grow up.” Don’t be afraid to dream big because odds are, if you dream big but only reach half way, that’s still half way farther than if you didn’t dream at all.

    Sometime later, I found out that Inner Compass had gone into receivership. I don’t know how many of the people that signed up to Master Trainer lost their money, nor how much they have each lost.

    What will the People Building answer to this missing event be? For a start, the trainer at People Building is female. Of course we want you to learn the most excellent skills that are NLP and Hypnotherapy, but we only want the most motivated people to attend our courses as we have found that the most motivated people make the best practitioners and therapists.

    As a graduate of the Inner Compass trainings, it never ceased to amaze me at how forthright and persistent the Inner Compass sales team were. At the end of completing NLP Trainers Training, I was invited to join the Master Trainer Development program. I received at least 3 phone calls over the coming months from keen sales people, attempting to get their commission from selling NLP Master Trainer to me.

    What will the People Building answer to this missing event be? Of course we want you to learn the most excellent skills that are NLP and Hypnotherapy, but we only want the most motivated people to attend our courses as we have found that the most motivated people make the best practitioners and therapists.

    Maybe it’s my slightly cynical side that prevented me from having that much faith in handing a huge sum of money over to a training company, and maybe it was the pushy sales. We’re confident you’ll do our NLP and Hypnotherapy training, not because we badger you to do so, but because you will believe in the value of doing so.

    Well in truth People Building have yet to decide upon an answer to Inner Compasses weekend event “Fire your Desire” which involved using NLP and Goal setting techniques to help people overcome limits within their own lives. Part of this motivational weekend included a fire walk, which most participants took part in, along with other mind power utilising techniques that would make any health and safety representative loose sleep for a month.

    It is considered a sign of very low refinement even to put such thing up, let alone to confess to be motivated by them– unless you are a middle manager, in which case low refinement is considered more of a virtue than a vice.     Seeing people sweating every day enables me to tell the gleam of sweat from the gleam of confidence. They look at those aerobic pictures and stand up straighter, work that much harder, and I believe, go home feeling a whole lot better about themselves. Even the aerobic exercise classes seem to go better once the pictures are present.

    It has given me plenty of time to observe people in their workouts, and the differences that those aerobic pictures make are surprising. After seeing this effect on people, I have even taken down my other motivational posters and put up the aerobic pictures around my cubicle in the gym. Even when I am not doing any exercise, the pictures of fit, trim people doing their aerobics workouts seems to tell me I should put in a little bit more effort into whatever tasks I am attending to at the moment.
