Solid Fitness Advice For Senior Citizens Trying To Lose Weight

If you are about to start a new fitness regime and have not exercised before or in a long time, or have a medical condition of some sort that might be exacerbated by exercise, it is a good idea to see your doctor before you begin a program. Getting a medical check up will help ensure that you choose the most beneficial exercise program for yourself.

One of the best exercise women can engage in is weight training. If this is not feasible, weight training exercises can be done following their regular aerobic exercises.

Don’t push yourself too hard when you are working out. While pushing yourself to your limits can be a good thing, be aware of those limits. If you intend on exercising daily, pushing yourself too hard only serves to discourage and tire you out the next day.

Find exercises you can do while watching TV. Be creative and find other activities you can do while exercising.

Fitness, like many other personal things, is something that must truly come from within. You should take a day or two to really remind yourself of why you want to be fit if you feel yourself losing motivation. If you write the reasons down, it can help a great deal.

Alternately, counting backward keeps you focused on how you have a little less to do with every rep.

When working out regularly, a great tip is to cut your weekly training in half for one week out of every five or six. Your body needs a little rest occasionally in order to recover properly. In addition, resting will prevent any serious injuries from occurring that could potentially put a halt to your training for months.
