  • Boost Your Self-Confidence: 9 Easy Hints

Boost Your Self-Confidence: 9 Easy Hints

Whether you are looking for a new job or going on a first date, one of the most important characteristics that will stand you in good stead is your self-confidence. Increase your self-confidence with these tactics to help you through interviews, meetings, and more.

    1. Stop saying “should”.

Don’t make yourself feel guilty by thinking about the things that you should have done: if something is in the past, let it pass. “I should mow the lawn,” becomes “I could mow the lawn,” which is a much more positive statement. Instead of allowing your tasks to hold power over you, take power for yourself by actively choosing how to spend your time.

    1. Don’t focus on yourself.

Take a few deep breaths if you are alone and feeling anxious. You can try various techniques, from meditation to distraction to take your mind off of you.

Go out of your way to make the other person feel comfortable, or introduce two people who haven’t met. Just having a task to do will make you feel better.

    1. Set realistic goals.

Setting goals will help boost your self-confidence. Choose something that you can measure, rather than something that is hard to measure so this way you will have a way to chart your progress. Keeping track of how you are doing will allow you to feel positive about yourself.

    1. Surround yourself with positives.

If there are people in your life who are constantly negative, it might be time to reconsider your friendship with these people. You want to surround yourself with people who are optimistic and caring, people who respect you and value you for who you are.

    1. Stop being critical.

Constant self-criticism can also turn into cattiness: to make yourself feel better you might point out flaws in other people. Choosing to focus on your positive traits and on other people’s positive traits will help you gain self-confidence.

    1. Take the time you need.

Perhaps painting your nails or polishing your shoes will make you feel that much more empowered. This time you spend will help you gain confidence.

It is important to learn that you are worth making time for. You will never be able to adequately care for another person until you care for yourself, so take time to relax and unwind.

    1. Think positively.

Try visualization to help you with achieving your goals, and to help you think positively towards a sense of self-confidence.

When you are feeling down, you can come back to this piece of paper to remember how wonderful you are. Remember how fortunate we are helping boost confidence because it helps surround us with the positivity that is required for true self-confidence.

Your mind is like a computer, and you will be able to erase those negative thought patterns with practice. Once you have pointedly erased that negative thought, replace it with a positive one.

    1. Reprogram yourself.

It is time to take these negative thoughts and replace them with positives, as outlined in the previous point.: “I can’t do that,” “I get scared easily,” “They don’t like me.”.

Remember that even confident people get bummed out sometimes. Having occasional periods of anxiety is completely natural.

    1. Fake it … and Smile!

This time you spend will help you gain confidence.

Just the act of smiling will release endorphins to the brain, which will eventually make you happy. Acting confident will help build your confidence for when you truly are confident.

Remember how fortunate we are helping boost confidence because it helps surround us with the positivity that is required for true self-confidence.

Setting goals will help boost your self-confidence. Choosing to focus on your positive traits and on other people’s positive traits will help you gain self-confidence.

Acting confident will help build your confidence for when you truly are confident.

Remember: you are going to be fine. Start building your self-confidence today so that you can begin to lead the lifestyle you deserve.

  • Self Esteem – 4 Simple Steps To Conquer Self Esteem

Self Esteem – 4 Simple Steps To Conquer Self Esteem

Believe it or not, some of the most successful people you see in the media today used to have a low self esteem. How did they overcome this and become the successful people that they are today?

You can win the battle over low self esteem with these 4 simple steps …

    1. Affirmations.

Increased self esteem has to start with you. If you are shy and intimidated by people, start to say something like the following: I am NOT shy and I am NOT intimidated by people. When I get around people, I am VERY confident.

Affirmations are simply positive things that you say out loud to yourself every day. Because you may not actually believe what you are saying, this can be very difficult at times. Why would you say something to yourself that you don’t believe?

Repeat this to yourself out loud at least 10 times before you leave your room. When you say this, don’t just mumble it either, say it as many times as necessary until you say it with passion and conviction.

    1. Read to grow.

Read something every day for at least 30 minutes that will help you increase your self esteem. The more you grow, the more your self esteem will improve.

    1. Take action every day.

Do something every day, starting with something small, that directly deals with your low self esteem. If you can’t talk with people because you feel inferior and insecure, just start off by saying ‘Hi’.

    1. Stop the negative thoughts.

If you are shy and intimidated by people, start to say something like the following: I am NOT shy and I am NOT intimidated by people. I am VERY confident when I get around people.

These four steps will help you increase your self esteem and become the person you really want to be. Just remember this: you are not going to change overnight. It will take time but as long as you are progressing, you are winning the war.

You may be snapping that band until your wrist is sore and red. Before long though, you will stop the negative thoughts because you don’t want to hurt your wrist anymore.

Read something every day for at least 30 minutes that will help you increase your self esteem. Do something every day, starting with something small, that directly deals with your low self esteem. If you can’t talk with people because you feel inferior and insecure, just start off by saying ‘Hi’.

A great way to do this is with a rubber band! Put a rubber band around your wrist. Every time a thought comes into your head that tells you that you can’t, you will never succeed, you are a looser, or anything negative, SNAP the rubber band on your wrist.

Negative thoughts are like land mines. As soon as you step out to face your fear, a negative thought comes and tells you that you can’t do it and BOOM; you believe it and lose that round. Instead, diffuse negative thoughts before they have a chance to do damage.

  • Creating the Perfect Goals for Success

Creating the Perfect Goals for Success

Another secret to goal setting is to find images of some of the things you want so that you can picture them clearly in your mind. It gives your goals a sense of realism than if you were to just think about the word “mansion.” Find some pictures of Italian Villas or indoor pools or whatever it is that you want and just imagine yourself in there.

Ok, so let’s talk about your mansion. Just writing down a mansion in your Goals list isn’t enough. Write down details.

Why do we need goals? We also use goals as a motivational tool to give us that boost of energy to work towards them.

For me, I’m a car guy so I’ve got a few cars on my list. Like I said, you have to dream big if you want to hit it big so I’ve got Porches, more BMWs, and even Ferraris on my list. I know the colors I want and all the options that each car provides.

You can start with making a list of your goals but you need to go farther. Get into the details.

You have to start dreaming again and not the dreams that you have when you sleep at night, but the dreams that you had when you were kids like, “I want to live in a mansion when I grow up.” Don’t be afraid to dream big because odds are, if you dream big but only reach half way, that’s still half way farther than if you didn’t dream at all.

Why do we need goals? We also use goals as a motivational tool to give us that boost of energy to work towards them.

One of the key points they will tell you to achieve success is to write down your goals if you ask any motivational speaker. Well, that’s not the whole story. Just writing them down doesn’t give you the energy boost that you need to achieve success but I’ll tell you my secret to goal setting.

  • The People Building Answer To Fire Your Desire

The People Building Answer To Fire Your Desire

Sometime later, I found out that Inner Compass had gone into receivership. I don’t know how many of the people that signed up to Master Trainer lost their money, nor how much they have each lost.

What will the People Building answer to this missing event be? For a start, the trainer at People Building is female. Of course we want you to learn the most excellent skills that are NLP and Hypnotherapy, but we only want the most motivated people to attend our courses as we have found that the most motivated people make the best practitioners and therapists.

As a graduate of the Inner Compass trainings, it never ceased to amaze me at how forthright and persistent the Inner Compass sales team were. At the end of completing NLP Trainers Training, I was invited to join the Master Trainer Development program. I received at least 3 phone calls over the coming months from keen sales people, attempting to get their commission from selling NLP Master Trainer to me.

I received at least 3 phone calls over the coming months from keen sales people, attempting to get their commission from selling NLP Master Trainer to me. Either way, pushy sales are not the People Building style.

Maybe it’s my slightly cynical side that prevented me from having that much faith in handing a huge sum of money over to a training company, and maybe it was the pushy sales. Either way, pushy sales are not the People Building style. We’re confident you’ll do our NLP and Hypnotherapy training, not because we badger you to do so, but because you will believe in the value of doing so.

Well in truth People Building have yet to decide upon an answer to Inner Compasses weekend event “Fire your Desire” which involved using NLP and Goal setting techniques to help people overcome limits within their own lives. Part of this motivational weekend included a fire walk, which most participants took part in, along with other mind power utilising techniques that would make any health and safety representative loose sleep for a month.

  • Aerobic Pictures – The Truth About Their True Effectiveness!

Aerobic Pictures – The Truth About Their True Effectiveness!

It is considered a sign of very low refinement even to put such thing up, let alone to confess to be motivated by them– unless you are a middle manager, in which case low refinement is considered more of a virtue than a vice. At least in the case of aerobic pictures, it is true. The right picture can really give people that extra push and get them moving.

I have an urge to tell you this simple yet rarely acknowledged fact that nothing inspires people quite as much as aerobic pictures to get fit and back in shape.

I know how skeptical people typically are about motivational pictures. Everyone has seen and got fed up with that tripe posted on the partition walls of their cubicles– some stranger conquering an impossible mountain

against the canvas of a magnificent sunrise with some stupid caption about “persistence”, or “excellence” under it, or some poor little kitten cutie struggling to hang on to the edge of a table with her babyish claws, beneath which is inscribed, invariably in corresponding bubbly cutesy letters, “hang on”.

Seeing people sweating every day enables me to tell the gleam of sweat from the gleam of confidence. They look at those aerobic pictures and stand up straighter, work that much harder, and I believe, go home feeling a whole lot better about themselves. Even the aerobic exercise classes seem to go better once the pictures are present.

It has given me plenty of time to observe people in their workouts, and the differences that those aerobic pictures make are surprising. After seeing this effect on people, I have even taken down my other motivational posters and put up the aerobic pictures around my cubicle in the gym. Even when I am not doing any exercise, the pictures of fit, trim people doing their aerobics workouts seems to tell me I should put in a little bit more effort into whatever tasks I am attending to at the moment.

Hey, you might not believe me when I tell you this. I would probably not believe in it either if I were a listener like you. I have an urge to tell you this simple yet rarely acknowledged fact that nothing inspires people quite as much as aerobic pictures to get fit and back in shape.

It has given me plenty of time to observe people in their workouts, and the differences that those aerobic pictures make are surprising. A Quick Guide to Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis has been around for thousands of years. From ancient Egyptian times even through today, hypnotism has been used in religion, medicine, mental therapy, and even entertainment. Patients often undergo hypnosis to help release stress or to overcome certain challenges in their lives such as smoking habits, obesity, anorexia, bulimia, insomnia, depression, and other conditions.

Hypnotherapy is similar to psychotherapy except it is undertaken when the patient is in a state of hypnosis. In many cases, the hypnotherapist will train the patient in self-hypnosis so the patient can benefit from hypnotherapy at any time when needed.

    What Happens During Hypnosis?

Before the actual hypnosis begins, both the patient and the trained hypnotherapist agree to the process. Hypnosis can not be forced on the patient. There will usually be an informal talk between the two with answers and questions as well as an explanation of what is about to take place.

When under hypnosis, the patient often feels very relaxed. When the session ends, the patient is able to ask questions and discuss the experience of hypnosis.

Next is the actual hypnosis. The patient is led into comforting, pleasant thoughts and begins to daydream about happy times or hopes for the future.
